We are delighted to announce our latest addition - Aliens, the debut album from Owensie, is set for release on February 4th, 2011.
Aliens is a collection of nine exquisitely crafted compositions that marry classical guitar intricacies with a contemporary folk delivery from the talented Dublin songwriter, a one-time member of Puget Sound & Terrordactyl, and currently guitarist with rock outfit Realistic Train. Recorded by James Eager (Jogging, Enemies, etc) at the Hive Studios, Owensie was joined by Andy Mooney (percussion), Mick Roe (drums), Julia Mahon (piano, piano and string arrangements) , Ailbhe Nic Oireachtaigh (viola) and Paddy Dexter (cello).
Aliens will be streamed in its entirety at www.nialler9.com from this Thursday, December 23rd – an early Christmas present from Owensie and OOAL. A track from the album will also be available to download on Christmas Eve from the Out On A Limb Records Soundcloud page as part of its free download series.
The album will be launched with at The Back Loft, La Cathedral Studios, Dublin, on Friday January 21st, with support from the very talented Amber Wilson from Aberdeen, Scotland, and a solo performance by Eoin Whitfield of Enemies. Entry on the night will be €10 , which will include a copy of the album. Aliens will be in shops and available through all the usual download sites from Friday, February 4th.
