Minor complaints thread (3 Viewers)

For days I've been wondering where the almost overpowering smell of engine oil was coming from at my desk. I thought it might be a workmate's motor cycle jacket

Turns out it's the pound shop 'gel' mouse mat I got

I think I probably have wrist cancer now from being in contact with it

I had a skype interview a little while ago and they wanted me to pick a song that would play every time I walked in to a room, and to sing it.
I can not/will not sing.

They're probably too old now though

I wouldn't inflict that on anyone.

if hes gonna insist doing it that way then, yes. But I think it'd be easier just to have extra spatulas or spoons, forks, whatever, to dole out the food with, and not have to handle it at all.

I don't see how the gloves are 'grubby' at all. The whole point of them is that they're clean. If he starts doing anything other than food handling, he has to bin them and put on a new pair.
But changing gloves for every single sandwich?
That seems like massive overkill.
Sandwiches are made by hand everywhere, surely?

You want him to use tongs on slices of ham?

Obviously it doesn't really matter to me either way, but I've truly never heard anything like this complaint before.

I really don't care what he does. If hes been handling meat then I don't want him handling whatever it is hes putting in my sandwich.

Ah, right.

Haha. That sounds bonkers to me, but I love meat.

Maybe they could institute some rule where he has to de- and re-glove for a veggie order?
"I'd like a vegetarian sandwich with blah blah blah"
That might out you as the guy that narced on him though.

it's hardly a hygiene issue.

thats a point actually. I have to think on that one. It doesn't seem the most hygienic thing in the world to be handling several different types of meats/foods, but I dunno. I guess there must be health and safety directives around doing this. Will have a gander when I'm bored in work tomorrow.

I really think the whole gloves/sandwich thing is a bunch of crap designed by hygene companies to paranoid people into throwing more plastic into landfill.

A: i have an immune system
B: i'll happily make physical contact with 300 people in a bar if it gets me a pint
C: the barman does not wear paranoia gloves
D: I've worked on building sites. YOU SHOULD SEE what touches a sandwhich that i would still gladly eat on site.
E: i have an immune system

seriously lads. what are you actually actually expecting to happen?
