Paper Planes is class, the Clash sample is deadly in it, as are the guns n stuff (very eloquent review there, not). Some of her stuff is fab, some doesn't hit me hard enough. But she's really unique which is great.

You're missing nothing. She's ruined an awful lot of potentially good songs. Galang, Sunshowers, Bucky Done Gun, Boyz, Paper Planes; they'd all be great tunes if they had anyone else rhyming over them except her. She can't sing, she can't rap and she doesn't even write all her own lyrics (Galang was written by Justine Frischmann). Her only major talent is picking quality producers to collaborate with (Diplo, The Cavemen, Switch) but even then you don't know if she's picking those names herself or are they being selected by an A&R man at XL records.

i think she's deadly, can't get enough of her stuff. in two minds about going to see her though.. been watching some live stuff on youtube and it's a bit.. not very good. just her prancing around not sounding very good and a lad doing all the music stuff with those boxes they make noises come out of.. would be better with an actual band i think. but sure we'll see.
