Just a quick question : Anyone here use a laundrette and would know how much it costs to do a wash? Its been years since I've used a laundrette and I have no idea how much it is these days. I'm talking about one of the self-service ones. Our washing machine has broken down.

I got a service wash/dry done in the one in Ranelagh a few months back.
€9 for a black bag full of washing.

Thanks :) I'll presume the self-service is about 5 or 6 euro then. We can put this thread out of its misery now.

has anyone got a maid? someone to come in and clean
up once a week like? i always wondered how much that
costs....

i used the one in ranelagh once and all my t-shirts (my favourite t-shirts i might add) came back like Right Said Fred muscle tops

laundrettes tend to nuke the fuck out of everything in the dryer

we hired a cleaner as a one-off last year.
Had a family gathering coming up and would have been under serious pressure to tidy the place in time.
Three hours work - think it was €60.

Hey Gorilla man, you must have been quoting this Neil Young song, since I know you're a fan and all, from your days living with Pantone.

A Man Needs A Maid"

My life is changing in so many ways
I don't know who to trust anymore
There's a shadow running thru my days
Like a beggar going from door to door.

I was thinking that maybe I'd get a maid
Find a place nearby for her to stay.
Just someone to keep my house clean,
Fix my meals and go away.

A maid. A man needs a maid.
A maid.

It's hard to make that change
When life and love turns strange.
And old.

To give a love, you gotta live a love.
To live a love, you gotta be "part of"
When will I see you again?

A while ago somewhere
I don't know when
I was watching a movie with a friend.
I fell in love with the actress.
She was playing a part that I could understand.

A maid. A man needs a maid.
A maid.

When will I see you again?

my place is pretty clean these days...i just get a bit sick of
hoovering cat hair. i could easily part with 30 euro a week
to have someone else do it. i hear 30 is the going rate.

eh pantone?

Jesus Pantone.

I didn't know you were a member of the Bourgeoisie.

Answers a lot of questions though.
A lot of questions.

Yuck, cats. Otherwise I'd think about it. I'm making up a list of easy part time jobs for extra cash. Top of the list is a phone sex operator. I think I would be good at this...but do you think they even make much money these days due to the internet?
