It's a huge game now.. lose again tomorrow night and the campaign will already be on life support before it's half over and it'll be "Trap out" from the media for the next 6 months. Slovakia are no great shakes, particularly missing Stoch, Skrtel and Vittek, but they have enough pace and firepower to hurt us particularly if the performance is anything like the Russia one. we haven't gotten a result against anyone better than us since holland in 01.

frankly, while green, whelan, kilbane and st ledger are in the team, we're not going to either. and russia made a mockery of us for an hour. we could have gotten to them, they're famously shite at the back. but we didn't, because, well, green, whelan, kilbane and st ledger, really. trap has shuffled his deck once all this time, when he was losing against italy in bari. that one must have been pretty personal. why didn't he try it again on friday? i'm, worried about his one-dimensionality. trying a cautious game with players as bad as green, whelan, kilbane and st ledger is dangerous. especially as aiden mcgeady is our only creative outlet.
