iPhone (1 Viewer)

theres a wikipedia app that allows you to download the entire database of wiki to your iphone/ipod. its 2 gigs in size and is a fiver, but to be able to have wikipedia offline is pretty amazing.

Do you not get screwed on the roaming charge? 5 quid per mb i think.

The maps works through the phone network. Ah, not sure actually, I had data roaming turned off. We'll see when the bill arrives. It was dead handy. I had the walking route from the train station to the hotel in the phone downloaded using wifi, then on the street it seemed to use triangulation to pinpont my position.

I'll answer my own question. Drop7 is awesome, and it's only 79 cent. Fieldrunners seems pretty great too.

downloaded a lot of stuff onto it in the first week or two...only ones
i use regularly now though are facebook, ny times and eirtext.
haven't jailbroken it yet, but must say watching videos of people
with snes emulators does make it tempting.

Didn't get on with topple or deadmeat at all.

Drop7 and fieldrunners are awesome though.

Can't say i'm bowled over with the announced features on os 3.0 but thank god they've finally implemented spotlight (i always had to fire up safari and full-scale gmail to search my mail a/c's) I've jailbroken my phone so i'm not that pushed to get this update when it drops in june/summer, i'll just wait for the updated patched firmware.
