I've just received the new PC that I was planning to buy over in the What Computer? thread, and I'm currently trying to get it to dual boot Vista and Ubuntu. I partitioned my hard drive, set the machine to boot from CD and put in the Ubuntu CD. It then asked me what I wanted to do and I selected 'run or install ubuntu'.
Instead of going to the bare Ubuntu desktop, as I was informed it should have, I'm now left with a black screen with a | at the top, and
Kernel alive
kernel direct mapping tables up to 100000000 @ 8000 - d000
I'm lost at this point, none of the keys seem to do anything. Does anyone have any ideas?
