Going dancing in Dublin (1 Viewer)

Dunno. Don't even know if she has a regular night there anymore. In fact, I've never even seen her play down there to be honest. I've seen her play other places and she's awesome.

Hmmmm i see.

Really like Sin E but alot of the time the tunes are cack. Last saturday for instance. Feckin poppy, guitar jangly, 60's shite.

I heard they play soul/reggae/funk on a Friday night. That could be yer wan Poppy.......or maybe not !ninjaaaa

When I was last in sin e on a Saturday night recently they played 'It ain't over till it's over' by Lenny Kravitz.

I'm actually amazed how that place is always busy, and why people in this thread and the deadly pubs thread in lifestyle rate it as a great pub.

It is a horrible, smelly, sweaty kip.

Rant over

it's one of those, used to be great 3 years ago before it filled with......

last time i was there Brian Kerr was downstairs boozing it up. sake.

It does sound deadly - but any time I've been to the Thomas House (haven't been in years though) I've sat around drinking pints for ages waiting for the dancing to start, then got fed up and gone home

Thomas House used to be great. Last time I was there it was cack though.

The last time I was in Fibber's I was telling this guy how I'd love to hear a metal version of Zacchaeus and this guy butted in and said there's no way a metaller would do a cover of that because it's about a Jew and metallers hate Jews. Well that's what he said anyway...

I was there a couple of Friday's ago and she was playing. It was really great.

Saturdays at Sin E are no good. Overcrowded, loud and playing shite pop music. But Friday nights are deadly. Especially if you get there early and get a table...

Brian Kerr's there a fair bit-his parents live around the corner...
but aye it's a dump-the laziest staff in all of Christendom don't help.
The attraction is the late bar, non?

Stomper, is your real world name Del?

Dublin was always Khak for dancin'
the dance floor crowd are invaribaly posers, free stylin chimps or rabel rousers and the DJs usually either too self concious for fluidity, self focused or just pretentious twats that want a gold star for digging out some 'rare groove'
'orrible

my dancin' feet have been outta my shoes for so long now i wear rubber soles

i'd highly recommend Nic James who plays every week in POGO pub. IMO he's the best DJ in the country , or up there anyway. anything from soul, funk, to grime and breaks. he's very much into the diplo/low budget vibe and has been for a long time now . but he plays all sorts really
