An usher has been suspended from his role in Leinster House amid an ongoing investigation into his online posts which allegedly included far-right and anti-immigrant material.

Gráinne Seoige in bid for Fianna Fáil Galway nomination

Outgoing Fianna Fáil TD Eamon Ó Cuív received a call from Gráinne Seoige who intends to seek the party's nomination for his seat in Galway West.

random thought, not suggesting it is a good idea - would be gas if the law was changed so you couldn't run for the dail till you'd served at least (insert random number of) years as a councillor.
that'd put a halt in the gallop of people like this who see an easy way of capitalising on their fame.

It would probably higher age range on newer TDs. They'd need experience somewhere else before the locals, a few years there and then on to the Dail. Also there's been a few good TDs that have come from the Seanad.
Maybe make them work in hospitality or retails as some "work experience", that I can get behind.
