Off to Galway the weekend after this one (March 11th to 13th)

Any ideas on things to do/places to stay and all that malarkey?

are you going with herself or friends?

Kinlay house is a nice hostel for both, its central too, and they give ye a breakfast too.
you could go the Aran islands for a night? its kinda amazingly great. everyone should do it once. i'll have to go back as an 'adult'.

oh, and try out 'supermacs', its a local restaurant of the highest order.. :)

Shall be there with herself. I've stayed in Kinlay house before... it's a good booze-stop. Thanks!

yeah, um... ye might wanna go a little more upmarket...
this probably points to why i'm single.

Not taking the piss here Kieran... there's loads of girls who fancy you. Kinda surprising that your single - if I were gay or a hetero chick I'd be after you.

Partyyyy! Word on the street is that the mighty Complan are playing Galway on the 12th, still to be confirmed but partyyyyy!

We stayed at the Best Western just outside The city centre, relatively cheap for a hotel, 5 mins in a cab to town, nice enough.

1. head to the westside to branskys for buckfast and knuckle sandwiches
2. head into town and argue with some crusties for more knuckle sandwiches
3. go to supermacs for a massive faed o burgers. try getting 2 in yer mouth at once.
4. Head to karma (more knuckle sandwiches)
5. Finally start a mass brawl in supermacs by looking at some gomies beure.

PURE

Okay

Anything fun happening in Galway this weekend?

Web-sites to check out etc. much appreciated.

Great ideas here about what to do in Galway, but...
heading there tomorrow, so what else is there to do than see the Melvins? Get a bus to some cliff and stare at the sea? Ideas anyone?

Go to see the Jimmy Cake the day after the Melvins. I know I am. See you there!

mmm...cake, and at least it's jimmy, not a johnny cake

gonna also eat a weird pizza at the weird pizza place and stay on the sofas for three hours drinking because we will be stuffed. Just for traditions sake

Go to quay street. Drink in neachtains and eat in McDonaghs. Head across cross street and drink in the Dew Drop. Eat in some more in la salsa before heading to the roisin. Lather, rinse, repeat.

if you arrive in time go to the post office and collect the dole, then go to charlie byrnes and buy some books, take them to food for thought and read them over coffee and apple crumble. go for a few pints in neachtains or maybe the crane but be sure not to stay the night in galway.
