Folk who can get away with releasing the same album again & again (1 Viewer)

So in theory we can say that you can buy just one album by each of these bands and essentially own their entire back catalog and every album they will ever make. For example

AC/DC- Back in Black
Mogwai- CODY
Bloor- Blur
Sigur Ros- Agegus Sbyrian (or whatever its called)
The Fall- Hex Induction Hour
Dirty Three- Horse Stories

Is that the theory?

I'll add every Josh Homme related album - Rated R

Style Council have 16 - four times the amount of studio LPs.

Jeff Buckley released one then died how many's that whinging anchor got?

Do the Pixies now have more knock offs as actual albums?

at what ratio to album/spin off does a band become an industry goat?

I say after five albums you're allowed one compilation.

Super Furries; 9 albums 2 compilations (singles and b sides). That seems okay. Though the B side is probably dead now.

there's lots of cheap cash-in comps that bands can do nought about - the Style Council have maybe three or four genuine comps.

I thought the Pixies have two comps - the Death one and the Yellow one.

that's one too many to begin with where are we drawing the line comp wise cos we could add frank black/black francis and the bbc sessions and the b sides (I looked this up after I asked the question, sorry) and the purple tapes one as well.

Oh and I know the labels are the ones doing the compilations and more often than not they pick what is to be included on the compilation which is a horrid way of doing things. it's just interesting to me.
