you get used to it. even though everyone from the city is from the country an putting on a fake voice and are equally racist towards the city natives, so long as they are from the other side of said city.

Just on the theme of inclusive bigotry.
I wiled away some time in a pub yesterday with some New Yorkers going through Wikipedia's list of ethnic slurs.
One NYers had grown up in New Zealand and when, as a child, she asked her English father who 'the wogs' were, he said "Everyone south of Calais, darling"
A hateful but wonderfully inclusive answer.
