bump folks...
this friday

Rubicks
We started underneath the arches of kings cross st pancras station a few years ago surrounded by some great musicians ,filmakers and writers.we started playing to a hungry to dance underground crowd at about 1 in the morning...so we got the samplers out along with the guitars
We put out a limited 7" vinyl of our song 'Midas' that was picked up by XFM Jon Kennedy (we love him!) and rough trade record shops counter culture best of 2002
We signed a deal pretty soon after (with Sharp Attack Records) and have spent a couple years gigging and working with some great producers and mixers like our friends Big Hair, Alan Moulder (My Bloody Valentine, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Smashing Pumpkins) Marc Waterman (Elastica, A.R.E. Weapons), Robert Harder (Whitey, Babyshambles) and Graham Sutton (Delays) for our debut album.
We ve played and toured with artists like Gary Numan, John Foxx, She Wants Revenge, the Faint, Clor, Duke Spirit, the Bravery, the Dogs.
We put out another limited edition vinyl earlier in 2005 'I See You', which was put on a modular DJ's compilation along with people like Tom Vek and the Killers.
Our (long awaited) album 'In Miniature' was released on 21st August 2006

The Popular 90 (formerly The Adventures)
The Popular 90 were formed in January of 2006. They are very polite and furiously good looking... and have a combined height of 24 feet and 4 inches.

Star Kicking
Star Kicking were formed when Alan and Emily met at a mutual friends 21st birthday party, in August 2005. They hit it off and realised one was a guitarist, the other a drummer. At Alan's home, he played Emily some of his music on CD. She liked it and the pair jammed at her house the next day.
First monikers included Art Sonic Diaspora before settling on Star Kicking, after Emily viewed some horror videos. The name refers to a medieval torture method, when star shaped pieces of paper with oil were lit between victims' toes, and some kicking would ensue... A bass player was needed to complete the trio, and two weeks later Dimitrios showed up on a motorcycle, replete with Greek accent and a nice touch on the bass guitar. He was to learn the songs fast, and from rehearsing through Autumn, Star Kicking played its first show on 27th November 2005 at the International Bar, Dublin.
The timing was good, as in the crowd was young Mossy O'Connell, who liked our music, and provided the PA that night and every night there after. He got us into a recording studio by January and what you're hearing is the result. Our finest hour was playing Reservoir 3 at Crawdaddy, 10th May. Some more gigs were played this summer, 2006, culminating in a review by Johnnie Craig in 'In Dublin' magazine in July. Positive stuff.
Unfortunately, Emily decided to leave us at this time to play in another band. Dimitrios went to explore new territories, volunteering work for the Summer. A new drummer was found in October, a Mr Gary Vitagliano of Boston, USA. Formally of US rockers Gladiola. It took just one rehearsal in Loop Studios to gel a 40 minute set for a gig.
And that brings us up to date, so far...
