apparently one option would be to remove the other strings and push it out from inside the body. i'll try that later.

That's what I've done in the past, but I've only done it on your typical acoustic. I can't see what you've got there.

And since you're going to probably going to change the strings anyway...

Yeah, there's nothing like an 'oh shit' moment like an 'oh shit' router moment. You're so close to disaster so much of the time. I've had several near misses with them.

Ha! Yeah, was using a bit with a top bearing so applying a bit of pressure into the wood. I’ll be fairly contouring the body at that point, so I may be able to take it out more or less. If not a repair piece and a solid finish!

I have a heroic amount of rasping and sanding ahead to tidy up and contour the body, but it’s coming together!

les pauls are famous for snapping at the headstock; the edge's explorer broke once, possibly twice, and was repaired. they can be repaired, but i couldn't guess the cost.

Fretting in progress - for my fourth instrument to fret I’ve treated myself to a proper flush nippers. Life changing.

My SG Standard has had it's neck snapped multiple times. Looking at 1-200 euro repairs cost. Maybe more being in London. Providence Guitars do amazing work over that way so worth giving them a shout.

Onto the drilling holes in it stage now.
Small matter of a bridge and nut to make also before I can give it a pre-finishing test drive
