i know very little of their stuff really. only started to get into em after seeing keith rowe last year. that combine one is all i have. must pick up more of their stuff though.

new zealand free noise - i only really know dead c, but that stuff was pretty hip for a while back in the 90s...a lot of thurston moore patronage going on i think...i dunno, too young for it i guess - never got too into the dead c stuff i've heard.
apparantly finland became the new new zealand and gavin UBS reckons that ireland will become the new finland- he seriously said that. can you believe that guy?

That looks like a grand old site.. .lots of stuff to pick up. It mentions something about New Zealand Free Noise..... what's that?
yeah, it's a deadly site. good postage rates too. very easy to bankrupt yourself on though.
new zealand free noise is stuff like the dead c i presume.

don't know how that "today it's manly" got in there.

apologies there about the repitition with casino's post. didn't see that when i was posting. casino, have you heard any alastair galbraith stuff? i haven't, just seem to hear lots about him.
think i remember seeing some mention of ubs/deserted village on that site when i was throwing in my order.

Gavin from UBS is like Felix the Cat. Seriously... his mother is a cat

I've heard stuff about Wellington has some good spaces for improv etc. I don't know if Finland is the New New Zealand...the old Zealand is beside Finland, so maybe it's going back to it's roots.

Mr. Murphy is very manly. He has a manly style of posting.

hmmmm never 'eard o'im. he has a far cooler name than me, that's for sure
is it more free folk stuff? with a name like that, i'd hope so
going home time

just checked there. they've got a humbug compilation cdr in stock with some deserted village tracks. here's what it says about it:

2/23/04V/ACottage Industrial Volume 2CDR$8.99Humbug

"Another entry in our compilation series, featuring five tracks from various acts outta the Deserted Village label from Ireland: Murmansk, Agitated Radio Pilot, The Magickal Folk of the Faraway Tree, and United Bible Studies (UBS with two tracks, one of them being a gorgeous outtake from an outdoors session they did with Vinny Dermody and Colleen (appearing courtesy of the Leaf Label)). A great way to check out this label's sounds! Further we've got all the 12 short tracks from Pål Asle Pettersen's 'Spor...' 8-inch EP released earlier this year, which Roel Meelkop in Vital Weekly called 'a genuine electroacoustic feast'. Eric Cordier appears under his own name (with a reworking of a traditional tune from Brittany, France) and as NOL (No Output Laptops), while Edward Ruchalski and Peter Wright also has two tracks each.....other artists are Ivar Grydeland/Øyvind Torvund, Anders Gjerde, Shifts, Uton, and The Cherry Point (with a full-on blast of harsh noise for good measure).....so a bit 'o this and a bit 'o that, almost all previously unreleased, an awesome way to check out some genuinely adventurous sounds. This is 'the shit' even if I say so myself....bah! 28 tracks, just ten seconds shy of 80 minutes!"

almost all amm's stuff is great.'the inexhaustable document','newfoundland','tunes without measure or end' are top notch, but they're pretty much quality all the way. also keith rowe & john tilbury's album 'duos for doris' is astounding, possibly even topping amm's stuff. and rowe's stuff without amm is rockin.

Has anyone got much stuff from Iran?

Their stuff sound decent.
the stuff i heard from em sounded deadly but i've only heard a few tracks. not much help i suppose.
