The First Wednesday Debates (2005 - 2006)
A series of 6 different debates on the first Wednesday of each month starting on the 2nd November from 6:15-7:45pm at Bewley's Cafe Theatre (Grafton Street).

Come along, get involved or just find out about the various issues while meeting people over a cuppa!
  • November 2 - Bono, Geldof and Live 8: Help or Hindrance?
    Speakers: Brian Scott (Chief Executive at Oxfam) and John Daly (Fundraising and Communications Manager at Action Aid Ireland)
  • December 6 - Free trade: a prescription for poverty?
  • January 3 - Can GM foods end famine?
  • February 7 - Corruption and aid: it takes two to bribe?
  • March 7 - Aid and development workers: do developing countries still need them?
  • April 4 - Migration and development: who benefits?
