COME BACK, PATH! (1 Viewer)

Right, that's that.

Off to Cluas with me.

hag (05 Feb, 2002 06:16 p.m.):
so, i guess it's my turn. before i begin, first and foremost, i am a music fan.

so, that's my lot, i can go back to being a prick now. but before i go, a few last words.

anne o'malley, fuck you! and as for Tracy_Eminent, i know you and you know me. funny, i didn't figure you as a cock-sucker. now go away and be annoyed at the board somewhere else and punish us some more with you absense, haven't you heard? i'm king of this here playground ... fuck you too!

For the record... it's Spartacist movement. You know those people selling Vanguard? Well that's the membership..

THere;s loads of stuff going on in Ireland at the moment with people getting out and doing their own thing (in many different ways). So much is possible when you get together and do it. THat seems to be what's happening with THINGS and laso is what happened with Tumped. It's so much more rewarding to do something yourself isn't it..... But it's far easier to complain about it, we all feel like doing it at time

Nice to see hope getting a mention - dont forget that the book is on the way........

Ah New Ross.

I'm going there for the weekend as it is my hometown.

I too attended many gigs at the back of Galavans in the early 1990s.

Citizen Fish June 1993 was the best one.

Stephen (05 Feb, 2002 02:18 p.m.):

I mean I just remember being a veggie in Carlow, listening to Fugazi and not drinking then all of a sudden going to gigs in New Ross and Dublin and finding I wasn't the only one.

Yeah - last october, wasn't it?

and what about lunch???

rIGHT LADS,(switching off cap locks)
I didn't mean to be down on the scene, just I remember it being more political.
You knows I thinks youse are all legends but my time here is coming to an end. My work here is done.
I guess I just miss Burkie & Padraic. And am fantasizing about something that wasn't there.

sure, people can talk about new ross as if it had a rosy sheen hanging over it, but it was no fucking fun to grow up in. YOU nlgbbbblth, of all people should know that.

sorry, but the place really offends me.

and sorry for going off the point.

i'm a fucking wimp really.

re: the whole path thing.

i don't know the guy.

none of his posts interested or offended me in any way.

sorry, i'm just very apathetic and ignorant when it comes to political issues so i barely read them.

yet when i decided to use the opportunity to be *really* funny and exploit the similarity between the names 'path' and 'pat' to take a jocular jab at my friend pat cannon (pat) a coupla weeks ago, 4 or 5 people immediately assumed i was having a bash at path and jumped straight in.

why would i?

and why would he care?

i only actually know about 10 people who post here, and if they 'bullied' me online, yes, i might be offended because it would be towards ME (the actual me).

anyone else would just be bullying r-o-n-a-n (the 5 letters in the left column attached to whatever stupid thing i wrote), and i wholeheartedly endorse that.
i'd think i was a dickhead too...

Don't be so sure, Ronan. Getting abuse online can be very upsetting (never got it here, but I got it elsewhere)

I made an account called "The Thumped Bully" username bully password bully

Now if anyone feels like being nasty, they can do so without besmirching their regular thumped name and making everyone think they're an asshole in real life

i bet the server just choked up with everyone logging in, ready to unleash their sulphouric venomous bitter binary wrath.

i'm not scared in the slightest of any fucking bully. and if you want to consider that flamebait then please, please, do.

I will gladly reef any of ye fuckers out of it who dare come within one carriage return of me. pussies.

[/2][1] is a slag. hag is a slag.[/1]

I never said that it was a wonderful place to grow up in. Just that some of the gigs there were enjoyable.

I wasn't too fond of it myself and I couldn't wait to leave - I'm now gone almost twelve years. Nevertheless I still enjoy going back occasionally to see family and friends. And oddly no matter how long I live in Dublin I will never consider it "home" whereas that shithole in the sunny south east, for all its faults, means something to me.

I DO see your point though.

ah yeah, point taken, but i suppose most of my friends there moved away and we were never the types that'd go to the ex-pats reunion match up in the park come christmas.

and yea, some of the gigs we're pretty cool. so i've heard. ahem.

herv.

nlgbbbblth (06 Feb, 2002 09:20 p.m.):
So did I. :)

Youth Centre was bigger but atmosphere wasn't as good.

herv (06 Feb, 2002 02:57 p.m.):
yeah. maybe you're right. all i ever did in the ymca was play badminton.

i remember a "rave" (hardy har har)in the youth centre. the punk festival was pretty interesting though, i still have the flyer. there were all day events in the town park and a punks swimming pool session amusingly entitled "punks and kids in trunks". heehee! :)

herv (07 Feb, 2002 07:58 a.m.):
actually, speaking of path, i met him last night by chance. appearantly hes bought himself a round the world trip. lucky guy.

'allo 'allo, wots all this about...

Just saw this thread now, someone mentioned it to me in the last couple of days but didnt get around to coming here. Will try and reply to some of it, but a lot of stuff to do today and tomorrow (last two days of work, got laid off - "global strategy adjustment", I liked that one).

That was you with E. last night Herv yeah? That photo dont do you justice.. hee hee..

On a brief but completely unrelated topic, what the fuck is the story with casinos in Ireland?? Are they legal or what? After I left the IFC bar last night I went to this place - http://www.merrioncasinoclub.com/ - which had seriously full-on gambling with blackjack tables and roulette wheels (people betting around 20 thousand Euro on red or black, jesus christ) along with standard Hold'em (tournament) and Omaha (50 Euro Entry cash game) poker tables. There are loads of them dotted around town - the Jackpot, the Collossus, the 78, and that scary looking place with the blacked out windows on Parnell Street opposite the Welcome Inn which allegedly serves drink til all hours as well (any of the ones I've been in dont serve alcohol at all).
