CHROMEO

The two met in high school when Macklovitch joined Gemayel's band at the ages of 15. During this time, Macklovitch's brother A-TRAK had began to become recognised world wide for his Dj talents, winning the DMC world championship in 1997 and he was looking to follow in his footsteps in music.

After that band ended, Dave 1 and P-Thugg started to produce hip-hop together. At this time TIGA was working with Dave 1 at a record store and asked Dave 1 to work on a project for his label, TURBO . Dave 1 and P-Thugg became CHROMEO, signed to Turbo and started creating tracks in 2002.

The debut album, SHE’S IN CONTROL was released in 2004, and received great reviews, comparing the sound to 80's groups like Hall & Oats, Klymaxx and Sylvester. “NEEDY GIRL” became a worldwide club hit but still they lacked commercial success.

After a three-year break, they released a second album,“FANCY FOOTWORK” which was also critically acclaimed and finally launched Chromeo globally through hits such as “FANCY FOOTWORK” and “TENDERONI”.

The album took them on a two-year world tour performing in festivals such as Glastonbury, Reading and Leads in the UK, Fujirock in Japan, Iceland Airwaves in Iceland as well as Coachella, Bonnaroo and Lollapolooza in the US.

Chromeo are also very popular Dj’s in their own right and most recently, they contributed to K7’s compilation title Dj Kicks, displaying their skills behind the decks and showing why the tour the world over djing as well as performing live.

Chromeo’s third studio album entitled “BUSINESS CASUAL” set to release later this year.

MIDNIGHT JUGGERNAUTS

Midnight Juggernauts are an alternative dance/synth pop band which formed in Melbourne, Australia in 2004, They consist of Vincent Vendetta (vocals, keyboards), Andy Juggernaut, (bass, vocals) and Daniel Stricker (drums). They have been described by the American magazine “Rolling Stone” as “David Bowie if his Berlin Trilogy was a collaboration with Kraftwerk and Faust”. So far, the band have released two albums “DYSTOPIA” (2008) and “THE CRYSTAL AXIS” (2010)

They were personally invited by French act JUSTICE to tour North America with them in late 2007 leaving their mark at the CMJ music festival, later playing with !!!, Holy Fuck, Crystal Castles, Klaxons and label mate Surkin across the UK and Europe. Their debut album, Dystopia, was released in Australia in late 2007 on the band’s own label Siberia Records, with an international release with additional material to follow in April and May of 2008.

They’ve remixed tracks for !!! (chk chk chk), The Presets, Dragonette, Cut Copy, VHS or Beta, Electric Six, Sébastien Tellier, Damn Arms and CSS. Others who remixed their songs include Grandmaster Flash, Metromony, Shy Child, Danger, Architecture In Helsinki, Chateau Marmont, Knightlife, Ajax, Curses!, Cut Copy, David Rubato, D.I.M., M83, Bag Raiders, Spod, The Presets, and members of Wolfmother.

Their live shows have included tours with Cut Copy, Wolfmother, Death From Above 1979, Electric Six, Gerling, Pink Grease, Har Mar Superstar , Trans Am, Bloc Party, Justice and now Chromeo.

Dystopia took some time to really make a big impact on these shores and it was it’s sheer quality that brought it that far with little or no label support. But with their second album “The Crystal Axis” things are about to get much bigger for Midnight Juggernauts.

I would guess Chromeo are good live?

I just can't get excited about their music though
