Choice music awards=bollox (1 Viewer)

Have heard a few Jape songs , to be honest didnt like them. Not my cup of tea maybe hes albums are good or hes good live. I was disapointed with that Phil Lynott song because i taught it might be a a nice tribute to one of Irelands greatest artist but it was more about yer man that was singing it being at some gig or something.

Seriously thought if you make fun of RTe everyone says yeah fair enough your right it is shit and its a waste of money. But if you say 99% of bands in Dublin are useless hacks everyone starts playing devils advocate.

Its like reverse entertainment, you go though your daily grind , come home and turn on the tele and watch some band that makes you feel more pissed off.

Sometimes you have to call a spade a spade.

agreed.

reverse entertainment = forward bollox.

What the fuck are you on about?

i can never fully understand what possesses people to start these threads when clearly it is a matter of taste. im sure there are lots of people out there who have no interest in the current irish scene or choice nominees etc but isnt that perfectly normal?

i mean, id have my reservations about some bands that were nominated but i certainly dont feel a need to come on here and denounce my distaste for the irish scene.

get over it and go hang out with salsa.

or even better, why don't you put out your own album and win the choice awards next year?

just be thankful there is a choice awards in the first place.

Out of all the Choice Music nominees I would myself only listen to RSAG the odd time but the rest of the bands seem sound enough (bar The fucking Script) so I'm not going to begrudge this at all. I could complain on here that the best of Irish grindcore or noise or whatever are being ignored etc but I just don't care enough about it to attack the awards and call it mediocre.

Out of curiosity what are your top albums of 08 Red_Dog?

Yup. I took the first post at face value, but the 2nd smells troll-y. And doesn't make much sense.

could someone post up the exact breakdown of the calculation that equals 99% of all irish music is shit? It's an intriguing statistic

Whats Salsa been saying that Jape had to mention him
in his acceptance speech? He's on my ignore list so i cant
see what he posts. Fill me in :)

Congrats Richie on the win. Well deserved.

Did he really?! That's classic.
Salsa was just being his sour failure self and whinging about the fact that people actually listen to Jape's music.

PS - hats off to you Japeo
