Bodytonic Charity 5-aside Competition
Howdy,
On Saturday 19th August 2006, we're hosting our annual Bodytonic 5-aside tournament at the SportsCo in Pembroke Wanderers, Ballsbridge. 2005 was the first year and was a great day out with Collective Music scooping the title - although rumours of forged birth certs and missing transfer documents still circulate dublin clubbing folklore to this day ......

So we're back to do it all again - except ( we hope ) bigger and better
It works like this.....
Teams of 7 people ( or more) , 5 on the pitch at any given time , subs to interchange at your teams will
Each team pays a fee for entering (e100 per team) , and after all costs have been paid, all monies raised on the day with go towards the National Council of the Blind in Ireland (NCBI) www.ncbi.ie - same as last year
The competition starts at about 2pm and runs until 7/8pm. We'll have prizes for the winners and runners up ( courtesy of various sponsors ) . We'll also have an after party in POGO later with Ian Pooley, Discotonic and various dj's who've kindly offered to play for charity in POGO PUB (we'll also have a paying Glist on the night to raise funds)

There's room for 16 teams altogether, and if you email [email protected] with ''Bodytonic Footie Tournament'' in the title - we'll send you all the details on how to register and enter the competition.

Last year we raised around e2000 , this year we're hoping to hit e3,000.

The Big Day Out....

We're also organising a BBQ on the day . Basically we'd like people to bring their own food and we'll cook it for yis. We'll also have some food there ourselves and we'll be charging for it too. Any money raised here obviously goes to charity
There'll also be a full bar open all day overlooking the pitches and we hope to have some tunes playing in there all day . We've yet to confirm it with venue, but the idea is that there'll be someone for everyone on offer so whether you play football or not , please come down and take the piss out of everyone , it'll be worth it

Wanna Help Out ???

We're looking for people to help out with a couple of things ....

1. Cook for the BBQ
2. Referees - EC's Giles Armstrong has kindly offered to sacrifice his immense balls skills for EC in favour of ''putting something back into the community'' as he puts it himself. Anyone else help out ? We need 4 altogether
3. Sponsorship - the cost of running this event at pembroke is quite high so we need to be pretty imaginative if we're to make a decent amount. If any of your companies would be interested in making a donation let us know - we could stick their advertising on our website or mailout or something like that in return. We'll also set up a Paypal system for people to make donations if they can't make it or whatever . Any ideas in this department would be really appreciated as its the whole point really
4. Video - someone to video the day . there were some priceless moments last year ( jon woods hitting the ground before hitting the ball, 2 seconds after berating Jim Carr for fuckin up, Dave Salacious blowing a foul with a chocolate bar having forgot it wasn't a whistle were 2 highlights) , so we're thinking if we get some more , we could send them into Beadles About or whatever its called and make some easy dough . in fact this could well be the biggest fundraiser of the lot

that's it really for the moment, hope you can all make it down , should be alot of fun
Thanks,
Bodytonic

ah yeah, cracking shins for charidee? i'm there or thereabouts, to use the parlance of the sport.

Ok, here's the latest :

yo folks,

1. Team Name + Team members names

2. Competition fee paid

Bank : Bank Of Ireland, Dunshaughlin , Co .Meath
Account Number : 21028424

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So here's some more details on the competition and day out itself....

The tournament ....

We have a total of 16 teams entered this year. Divided into 4 groups ala last year , with the winner of each group meeting in the semi-finals and we'll have the final after that .

Each game in the group stages will be 15 minutes long , and each team will play at least 3 games, with a total of 6 games per group. Semi-final games will be 20 minutes long , with the final a marathon 30 minutes in length. Shockin stuff for a bunch of ravers and rockers in fairness :)

The draw will be announced FIFA style on our forum next wednesday at 1pm (www.bodytonicmusic.com/forum in the general section) , with Eoin Cregan on Sebb Blatter duties .

The Big Day Out .....

There'll be a full bar and BBQ at Pemroke , so please feel free to invite anyone else you want down to make a day of it . More the merrier is our attitude

Bodytonic

Can anyone get to a bank handy enough to do a transfer of de cash?
Also, so far there's meself, Avernus, Hector and MD Ro.. are ye still able to make it on the 19th?

Tell me about it.
I've got two more dudes lined up, anyone know a 7th and final candidate who can (ideally) be an awesome goalkeeper whilst simultaneously setting up loads of goals for me?

If your stuck for numbers I could play, however I'm shite in goal.

I dare say I'd be rubbish out on pitch too, its been a while.
