well not much of a selection at the local shop, I'm afraid. I got a couple of "Hip Hops". These are kind of chewy bar efforts, and I'm chawing (as D.Dan himself might say) on one right now. Verdict: not bad but a bit on the non-lethal side. I like sweets to hurt, the way Wham bars used to.

okay next up is a "sherbet fountain". It's a stick of licorice in your common-or-garden fine sherbet. Again, not bad, but I've never been a sherbet fan, and sherbet and licorice wasn't the greatest idea ever. You know, sweet and not sweet. Willy Wonka wouldn't have done it, put it that way.
Verdict: sentimental value quite high,a s this is an old sweet, but a little perplexing to the sweet tooth

mmm, and what's this? a "fizz sucker". let's see.....it's basically just a fizzy lollipop. Absolutely nothing on the classic fizz bomb, kind of synthetic (which isn't a bad thin), but nothing to write home about.
Verdict: unimpressive

I've got a pack of starburst as well to keep me happy just in case.

would make a brilliant anthropology thesis...

You know what I could do with right now? A big handful of black jacks. They were class. Or football chums, mmm.

Do they make them anymore?

why don't you go into one o' them fancy bars in town and go to the "john". there you will find a BLACK in the JACKs that i'm sure you could chew on.......

I'd say I'd have better luck with the football chums you'd find in said jacks....or possibly one of the fruit salads

If you're ever in America, buy yourself some Shock Tarts. THE most insanely sour sweet I have ever tasted.
Or if you're really desperate, go down to the Asia market and get yourself a packet of granulated citric acid. Mix with sugar and eat - mmmmm just like the sour fizzy stuff on the outside of sour dummies

(how can you talk about chewy sweets without mentioning Postman Pats?)
