That's usually the point where you can feel the shifting of gears from "quirkey" to semi serious in almost every one there's a funeral and after this point he crams nearly all the charachter development into the final quarter. I like all his films I just hate his fans.

Ha! You'd hate me so. That said, the Law of Diminishing Returns has set in since Royal Tenenbaums.

The Squid and the Whale was great, but a bit too uncomfortable at times, and with less likable characters. Maybe thats why I prefer the American Office to the UK Office.

I actually liked the dad, the curly haired kid, the girlfriend and the Baldwin.
Horribly uncomfortable at several points, but that's great. The scene where Jeff Daniels accepts money for dinner off the son's girlfriend is excruciating.
My problem with Margot at the Wedding was that I hated every single character, with the possible exception of the Jack Black one.

Speaking of which...

School of Rock!!!! I've watched this about 6 times. Amazing. Up there with Zoolander for silly movie of the decade. I'm not really a fan of most of the Will Ferrell stuff, etc.
Along these lines, I also liked Elf, Wedding Crashers and I kinda enjoyed Superbad.

Yeah, The Dark Knight was entertaining but can't imagine it having much rewatch value. Reminds me though, the prestige was really good.
