You know the way an irish band gets signed and everyone says their shit and then the world moves on again but the band seems to disappear into the record label's vaults . I want to try and keep track of the whole thing. I think Woodstar had a record deal. Any others?

Royseven... well not yet, but we all know it's going to happen

One of the funniest things of working in HP was the January "Bands for 2007" feature... ah God, like lining up suckers against a wall so it was...

What's that Northern Irish band? Serpent Organ Sound? They'll be huge.
Mainline - the next big thing. Oh yes.
Humanzi - They never needed that label anyway.
Relish - meh.
Angels of Mons - They're going to be bigger than bread.
Alphastates or whatever they were called. Sassy.
Interferance - ahh, look, he's in a wheelchair..
Melaton - the saviours of Sony.
Skindive - who needs Garbage when you can have this rubbish instead?
Turn - were good until their bass players started to spontaneously combust
etc
etc
etc until the end of time.

They got courted for years by the labels. When they were called Jove they came out to see our practice place in Finglas with a view to sharing it and balked at our inexpressibly crappy PA. They were talking about getting development money from labels back then, suppose that was probably summer 2003

Why does this happen?

Aside from the band being shit in the first place, sure that never stopped english bands from getting big

Co.Uk
then Co_dot
then no more

Were Watercrest (was that how it was spelt?) ever signed to a big label?

Why? There's no obligation on a label to bother putting an album out. The band mightn't develop musically like they hoped it would etc. No point throwing good money after bad.

Has the Humanzi album even been released in England?
