What a pity that it has been modernised inside though.

Yeah, the inside is sucky. These houses are never owned by the people they deserve to be owned by! Like me, for example.

I'm wondering if the others houses on this street are art deco too. I may have to take a trip up there!

Never knew about that gaff in Rathfarnham- Amazed to see it has the lovely metal windows. This is the pinnacle of art deco in Ireland IMO the christ the king church at turner's cross in cork

There's meant to be a top secret Adolf Loos bar/café in Trinity College, based something like his American Bar in Vienna. I saw it in a bewk once and it looks something like

If anyone could sneak me into it, I'd be mighty obliged. It's not art deco, but it'd fucking cool.

There's also some modernist/deco suburban houses on the old Howth Road. If you get the bus out to Howth, you'll pass them.

If you want a truly awe inspiring example of art deco - check out Napier in New Zealand. The town was levelled by an earthquake in the 1930's and rebuilt in art deco style. It's an amazing place.. everything now is built to match, so even the fucking McDonalds is art deco!

That's the zenith of art deco. Amazing. Still one of the most stunning buildings in all of NY.

My granddad was a night watchman there, and was also a driver for Mr Chrystler. My dad says he remembers going to a Christmas party at the top of the Chrystler building sometime in the late 1930s. It would have been so new then -- he said it was utterly spectacular, especially for a kid.
