I have to sound like I've used it before, maybe whether it is more or less complicated than say Wordpress would be enough.

If you can talk Wordpress then just Google "sitemanager vs Wordpress" for comparisons.

One big difference is the way sitemanager runs all its CMS functionality locally, with scheduled FTP uploads of flat files to a web server, which is great from a security perspective as you've no need to expose any database functionality at all to the world. Conversely you lose some dynamic functionality.

It's also better than WP when you're considering a publishing workflow - user roles and approval / publish rights and the like.
