Anti-Cannabis Campaign (1 Viewer)

i think people do change in the long term from cannabis. i know with myself that i sounded @happy" on the phone to my friends a week after giving it up. a lot of my friends smoke it and are perfectly happy but unfortunately i cant do that not even in moderation my brain doesnt understand it.
so no i don't think it should be legalised i used to be on the pro side and i still do plan on growing more but i dont think we are ready as people for its affects you could give example of other drugs being worse or same as, but it doesnt take away that it quite a lot of the times is quite bad for you.

But snotrag... just because something is bad for you, you think it should be against the law?

I think if poeple want to use it, and they do, they should be informed of its effects and dangers, and be allowed make their own minds up.

It is bad for you. I dont really bother with it. But, I completely fail to see how that is Bertie Ahern's or Our-Father-Who-Art-in-Heaven-George-Walker-Bush's business.

you say flashback that it is bad for you. then why would you want to promote something you think is bad.?

people are stupid and will generally try a lot of legal highs. i know people who wont smoke as they its illegal. but more the point is there will be a hell of a lot more people smoking (we dont have the dams, spain, canadas etc culture) which will be a lot more psychosis cases which i think would be shit

hmmm now bringing poltics in where any answer i give will be wrong so pftttb* (a rasberry)

No, I am not saying that smoking weed should be promoted.
Just, since people insist on smoking it, they should be let know what it does to them. Nothing more.

I do not think there needs to be laws about what drugs you are allowed take and not allowed take.
What people do with their own bodies is their business.

And, if people dont smoke weed because it's illegal... I dunno, that's their issue. If they want Bertie in charge of their day to day life habits that's their choice.

If they are not strong enough to make their own mind up about what is the best way to behave maybe they shoudl take up religion.
(zing)

but people arent its a fact. it isn't going to go away. so complaining about what people should or shouldnt do is silly a lot of people cant make up their mindsabout things, should they all take up relgion. smokers cant promote themselves due to the law so debate is generally out of the question (publically)

our government are in charge of wht we do and how we do it to a certain extent. in our day to day life. thats a fact. from smoking to drinking etc

id agree with you it is your own business what you do with your body. but to encourage a drug whre your mentally drained where your desire to do things (bar stoned stories) fades

people insist on smoking it i agree we should have access to informed and debatable issue

What would Bob Marley say?

I don't necessarily think that legalizing drugs is a 'good' thing, by the way, I just think that having it illegal is doing more harm than good. It's a massive waste of resources in terms of trying to control it and dealing with people who break the laws (through use or indirectly through economically motivated crime to fund addictions), it prevents people from accessing help who need it, it's a health hazard for drug users themselves and, in the case of injecting drug users, a hazard to the community.

This is all still an argument that's germinating in my head, and I've said it before, but making major changes to legislation relating to drug use is a huge responsibility that would need to be well-planned (with ample resources going into providing support services, control mechanism etc.). No doubt there would be an initial surge in the use of drugs but as the novelty wears off, I imagine it would be better for all humans in the long run not to criminalise people for this shit.

(No doubt there would be a great big psychological vacuum left by the function of illegal drug use in terms of how people who are fucked up fuck themselves up more, or how people who want to challenge authority challenge authority. Again, spouting shit that's coming into my head as I type here).

Anyway...

legalising it has to be a good thing because already it's caused such problems as you've mentioned. it would indeed involve huge planning and support and in this country, i dont think thats possible. our government/councils/pricks in charge just couldnt organise anything or indeed, follow through on rudimentary plans without fucking them up/costing a small fortune/not thinking far enough ahead.

also, this backward state has a mentality that will never be shaken by the ignoramuses and small-minded people that have it cemented it into their brains that drugs=bad & not just that they believe it but that they have a right to inflict this believe unto others. like fucking the irish catholic church still running the country. sometimes i think its nearly that bad again. fucking hell. /rant over

No doubt. But drink is the same , which I knkow is the get-out argument for legalising weed, but it's true. Some people shouldn't drink, and some people shouldn't smoke, but the point is always that even if something fosters adverse reactions, you should be able to choose.
I'm no anarchist, but I am getting sick of having morality shoved down my throat in step with legality, and of being told that I can't put things into my body which has literally no effect on anybody else, close to me or otherwise. Sexy. Obviously snotty, this part is not directed towards you.
But do you not think you're far better off for knowing why you shouldn't smoke, and how you react to it? There's always going to be a percentage of people fucked up by drugs, legal or not, but I consider myself to take more of a risk getting into somebody's car than if I have a joint .and so on until I even bore myself

both you and conniffe were 'gagging' for spliffs on thursday!!

give em nothing ern.dope is a nice drug but like a lot of yis said before, stoners are dumb and boring as fuck.im sick to death of people beginning stories with "i was so baked....." so fucking what?yr a junkie scumbag now piss off.
a spliff a day keeps the boring bastard part away.

so what make ye of the situation in sweden where all drugs are ultra illegal? cannabis is widely considered as bad as heroin over there and i've met very few swedes who smoke it. alot of people rave on about how its a police state and all that but ive yet to meet any swedes who feel repressed, most just dont give a fuck and wouldnt go near a joint even if it was legal. i suppose the lack of drugs abuse is more syptomactic of a successfull society than one thats heavily policed. anywho i'm waffiling, but i am glad this is the situ over there as my kids are gonna grow up there and are less likely to turn into the moody stoner i was. hopefully:)
