Bohs 1-2 Palestine.
Palestine rarely got into Bohs final third in 1st half. Bohs heavily dominated and somehow it was still 0-0 at HT.
Bohs went 1-0 up early in 2nd half and made a lot of subs early in 3rd quarter.
Palestine scored against the run of play and got another with about 15 mins left. Late on Palestine were better team.
Great celebrations afterwards with both teams still on pitch half an hour after game ended when I left.
Bohs did a spectacularly good job hosting this. Hope this story goes around the world.

Des Kelly stand looked like the best place to be alright:
A lot of Palestinians, activists and noisy young folks and some people I know were in there. The players were standing directly in front this angle celebrating for ages after match. Unfortunately I can't figure how to forward the footage I was sent of that.

Only downside of night was one of Bohs players was in bad way after winning goal but hard to see why - always worrying to see innocuous injuries.

ST. PAULI got promoted last weekend. A win in final match will see them go up as Champs. Hamburg (4th) are stuck in Bundesliga 2 for another season.

Eight teams in London today, and four more nearby, there's a palpable atmosphere around here. There's also the Hackney half marathon, which is apparently a big deal also.at least 12,500 runners.

Good vibes so far, but we'll see how the day goes.

Announced this morning that one of the best defenders of the 1960's has died aged 85.
Karl-Heinz Schnellinger (1939 - 20 May 2024)
Schnellinger played in four World Cups (1958-70) including the 1966 Final, earning 47 caps. He was the last surviving West German from the 1958 squad.

Schnellinger preferred position was left back. He was West German champion with his first club FC Koln before moving to Italy in 1962 and spent 9 years at AC Milan (1965-74) where he won Serie A in 1968 and the 1969 European Cup plus a string of cups.

After football Schnellinger resided in Milano for the rest of his life.

Ian Hamilton (b. 1950)
Memorably nicknamed 'Chico' after the jazz drummer, Hamilton started at Chelsea. He joined Aston Villa in 1969 and played a key role in their rise back up from Division 3 as a goal scoring midfielder including winning the 1975 League Cup.

After the Bergamo COVID tragedy that scared the world into action in early 2020 (which was largely spread at Atalanta v Valencia match). Gasperini's team continued to flourish and tonight they did a job on the best team in Europe after memorably destroying Liverpool at Anfield along the way.
800 plus matches as manager was worth the wait for his first trophy.

NO. Just followed build up through the day and when Irish TV coverage of celebrations began to wane, I switched over to RAI on dodgy box.
No doubt I waste a huge amount of time watching sport (overwhelmingly on TV) but nights like this are my reward.
