Villa got through v Lille on pens in Euro Conference.
Martinez saved two pens.
Emi got second yellow in shootout but in little known rule - yellows are wiped at end of 120 minutes!!
Even Martinez who was winding up Lille crowd was surprised he wasn't sent off.
Paul Dempsey (commentator) didn't know either and couldn't figure out what was happening.

Anyone ever see or hear of this before??!

Turkey v Greece = never for faint hearted.
Olympiacos won on pens in Istanbul.
Young Greek(?) keeper saved 3 pens.

Almost totally silent crowd as Athenians celebrated.

Olympiacos missed two pens themselves-
Earlier one hit bar bounced down on line and Fenerbache keeper managed to turnaround and grab it before it went over the line! Guy thought he had won shootout for Olympiacos before realising he missed

EDIT:
Missed most of Villa match but they were lucky. Lille blew it after leading 2-0 in last few minutes. Delighted for Villa.

AC Milan 1-2 Inter.
Inter campione 2023-24 with five games left.
Theo (Milan) and Dumfries (Inter) sent off after clash in injury time.
Then in 96 minute a second Milan sending off for violent conduct.

Leighton James (1953 - 19 April 2024)
Welsh winger (1971-83, 54 caps /10 goals).
Starting at Burnley, James was a highly rated young player especially after scoring 16 league goals for a relegated Burnley side in 1974-75. This led to a £300,000 transfer to Derby but after 1976 The Rams faded badly.
James later played in Division 1 w/ QPR, his local club Swansea and Sunderland.

Feyenoord manager Arne Slot is reported to have accepted Liverpool's offer to take over from Jurgen Klopp.
Happy with this - like the football he favours and Slot has turned Feyenoord around in a huge way.
Spurs were interested in Slot last year but he signed a new contract for unprecedented 3.5 million p.a. to stay in Rotterdam.

Allegedly he had a look around West Ham as well. But that maybe that was just to drum up attention amongst the Liverpool management.

The appointment was all but confirmed when Salah and Klopp had their thing the other day.

Ha. I don't support them, they support me.
That draw did do it for Liverpool.
Much like the the 2-2 game with Arsenal last season. Moyes, everyone's favourite party pooper.
PL was completely over for Reds anyway after losing to Everton.
Liverpool were picking up lucky points / late goals / comebacks all season e.g. 97 min equaliser at Luton and luck ran out.
Conceded early goals, consistently missing huge amount of chances for a long time. Virgil and Konate were awful against Everton who rarely score two goals. Lost control of games that City or Arsenal would see out no bother.
Salah looks likely to be let go - nowhere near the player he was in last few months especially.
There is a lot of depth in the LFC squad but needs some tweaking and a few fringe lads will go. A ruthless no. 9 would help.
All in all LFC season was better than expected last summer.

Unlikely City feck up PL now. Straight forward matches left. But they were a bit sub par all season. Guardiola's CL record post Barcelona is poor - shoulda beaten Real comfortably.

Big step up for the Arse this season and only Europe was a big let down - shoulda been looking to get to CL Final.
They left themselves slightly too much to do until middle of winter
I slagged off Arteta a lot but he is far more comfortable and open with media now and calmed down hugely on the touchline - by his own admission he's learning fast

West Ham? another strong season for Moyes only bad bit was awful run during exit of best players to AFCON. Top 8 is now the standard for The Hammers. Squad looks happy and should stay intact for next season.

I shall forward that to the boss.
Subject: You understand this.

Just discovered that Dagger (Daniel Agger ex Liverpool and Denmark) now has a business called KloAgger which deals with sewage.
