That looks very nice, how much?

Have you thought about bivi bags at all? Way lighter but not very romantic.

Got a new tent for the Leckie Pikkie...
It has a porch...
A PORCH!!!

My newer one has two sections and big central room/porch which can fit about ten people in camping chairs we discovered at the EP. I got it for 70 euro down from 280 in Millets the day before EP when they thought they'd sold out. I was well chuffed.

is £250 just a silly amount to spend on a tent???

Not really, I'd say it's around the top of sensible money as long as it's a deadly tent. I'd say over 300 is proper silly. Which tent is it?

Them terra novas are more expensive than that but they're worth it if you can afford one imo.

it's the TBS Spirit 200+ - http://www.vango.co.uk/products/tentsinfo.asp?typename=177

I'm not 100% sure if it's big ehough to fit bikes in the porch area.

The Spirit 200+ meets the demands of modern adventure seekers by blending the latest lightweight fabrics and pole technologies in a trusted, reliable formula. With the inclusion of TBS PRO (Lightweight Tension Band System) tensioning, these lightweight tents are reassuringly strong in all conditions especially high winds. The Spirit 200+ has a Protex SPU SL 3000 siliconised flysheet with fully taped seams and a HH of 3000mm. The breathable ripstop polyester inner is also treated with H2O repellent finish and has no-see-um mesh ventilation to reduce condensation and keep bugs at bay. A 5000 HD nylon bathtub groundsheet prevents ingress of water from below. The Spirit 200+ also comes with Powerflex 7001 T6 alloy poles and continuous pole sleeves for fast pitching. Other features on this tent include an extensive storage area, window panels, pre-attached guylines, adjustable flysheet attachments that allow variable tension for variable climatic conditions and reflective trim.

we were trying to keep below 2KG for walking/cycling but this seems to be lightest with the most space..

That looks nice, I don't see how you couldn't get two bikes into a 1.9m space.

My house mate just told me to show you this for comparison, bout the same size but 50 quid more and 3kg. This is one's advertised as a bike tent.

I'd go with the vango sure it's even a nicer colour. :D

remove front wheels??

the vaude tents are nice. 300 is just too much. Some of the smaller vaude ones are really light but they aren't very stable - apparently..

on another note.. I read really bad reviews of that gear zone site..
