full-scale war between the US and Iran (5 Viewers)

In those situation if you are expecting someone else to talk about something you sorta part of the 'silence' though, if not propogating it.
Yeah if you read my post properly you’ll see I said I’m NOT expecting opinions, rather noting that there were a lot more around here being expressed on Ukraine. It was a reflection, not a criticism, and I appreciate hearing your and others similar reflections on why that might be.

Fucking hell... no messing arround there....

''Iranian state media said the head of the Revolutionary Guards, Gen Hossein Salami, the army chief of staff, Maj Gen Mohammad Bagheri, and the commander of the Khatam al-Anbia joint forces headquarters, Maj Gen Gholamali Rashid, had been killed in the strikes, as well as six nuclear scientists, including Fereydoun Abbasi, the head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization from 2011 to 2013.''

Talks between the US and Iran have been scheduled over a new nuclear deal AFAIK, and I read earlier that one the people Israel killed was Iran's chief negotiator.

You'd have thought that Bibi would be happy to cosy up to Trump thinking that they'd have a broadly similar cunty world view but it seems they were pretty butthurt over Trump's last ME visit being to the oil countries and didn't include them

Its pretty clear at this point that the only effective lever of control the yanks would have is shutting down the supply of arms.. and I don't see that happening (given that relatively speaking the attack on strategic targets in Iran was somewhat more legitimate than slaughtering civilians queing for food).

I have American friends, dem voters, who can't get that this is why I hold Biden in such contempt.

"He tried to do what he could."

"He kept sending them bombs!!!"

They don't seem to realise that functionally the only difference of opinion on the Gaza thing between most GOP and Dem pols is "we'll acknowledge that it's kinda sad" when they talk about how Israel should be allowed to try to eliminate an entire population.

probably for the best that general salami was taken out at the beginning of the war. can’t have a guy called salami leading you to victory
I'm glad someone else said that, it's what I was thinking.
I do want to concoct some hoisin salami.

I have genuinely no idea what is going on right now... trump announced a ceasefire but neither side is actually following it? trump just... made it up? I know we’re all used to trump being a lunatic but I really didn’t expect him to just hallucinate a ceasefire and post it online. although the iranians said that they will potentially follow it, but they don’t consider it a ceasefire. what the fuck
