the van as i got it:

bought this bed for 5 euro - the absolute quickest way to get the right amount of wood for a bed

deconstructed it and made a stronger and lighter version

Really nice work. On a side note - the amount of wooden bed bases I see sticking out of skips around me at the moment is a crime

yeah - like they are a bit crappily made (2 dowels and a screw butt joined most of the time) - but like, it's one of the most reusable/repurposeable materials.

the place i got my bed is a salvage next to the WEEE centre that scrapes anything from there that's still useable

yeah - you wouldn't get that much PAO deal for that little/free.

My favourite skip find in the relatively recent past was the 10-12 lengths of teak 2''x1'' I pulled out of a skip. Made several pieces of garden furniture with it..
 
All it needs now is one of these stickers

Further to the talk about holding on to small pieces of wood. I made a rack to hold some steel measuring cups (some visible on the background) out of an offcut of cherry.

(The photo is from an interview with a unionist in the paper. I didn't read it so cannot explain why he's topless)
