There's a lot of hysteria about the Tory "dementia tax". As far as I can ascertain , although it seems odious it is much fairer than the Irish equivalent. Here you can choose to release the equity of your home and assets to cover the cost of your healthcare but you don't have the option to stay in the home, you have to move to a care facility. Which seems pretty rotten to me. I dislike the idea of compelling citizens to die penniless. I think I understand some of the thinking behind the initiative, both here and in the UK but to me it just copper-fastens the idea that once you're 'of no value to society' then fuck you.

Slight change in momentum for labour after the manifestos, but the Tories still have the papers and the BBC working for them.

This depressed me over the weekend

Was at my folks over the weekend. We wouldn't be big into talking politics, but they are clearing thinking what the fuck? Must be an empty feeling voting in Northern Ireland at the minute. Emptier than normal.

Cant see that lads name without thinking of the Corvid family
