The book 'Where were you' was one of the projects I funded
They were really sound..a lot of return for my buck

When I told them they'd misspelled my name in the credits (because I'm a pedantic asshole) they immediately offered to replace it. But I'd already gotten my 'warm glow' for helping so I didn't accept it (because I'm a great guy).

Yeah, but aided by a pretty good social welfare system

You mean state patronage ... even 20 yrs ago it was hard to just claim and get on with things - I was mostly on CE schemes, courses and back-to-work programmes
