The Young Hearts Collective will be joined by Dónal Lunny, The Spook of the Thirteenth Lock, Mumblin’ Deaf Ro, The Strypes, Margie Lewis, OCHO, Niamh De Barra, Pearse McGloughlin & more for YULE on December 8th.
It has been a strange year, and stranger to think we are coming towards the end of it. Young Hearts haven’t done as many events as we would have liked this year, for various reasons, but this time of year always means YULE. It will be 4 years since we started Young Hearts, raising money for the Simon Community, and trying to raise spirits, and we have had some really special moments – so we want our fifth YULE to be special too.
Luckily, the big hearts of so many are aiming to make it so. We will have live performances from Dónal Lunny, The Spook of the Thirteenth Lock, Mumblin’ Deaf Ro, The Strypes, Margie Lewis, OCHO, Niamh De Barra, Pearse McGloughlin, the Young Hearts Choir, and a very special guest that will be announced nearer the date (he is very special, but we are trying to be Argo-like about things for now).
And we will also have the wonderful David O’Doherty, and DJ sets by Greenbeat vs. Brainbeat, Gib Cassidy (Elastic Witch), Skinny Wolves, Eamon Sweeney, and YHRF
It will all take place on Saturday 8th December 2012, at The CO-OP, 12 Newmarket Square, Dublin 8, from 7.30pm until late (first live performance at 8pm), entrance is €16 (including €1 donation to the CO-OP), it’s BYOB, and there will be roast chestnuts, cake, hot cider and mulled wine provided by YHRF. And lots of Christmas trees to raffle off.
so please do come along on the night, and pass this on to anyone you think might like to come too.
Thanks so much for all your support over the last 4 years, we have been up hills in Howth, down in the basement of office blocks on Clarendon Street, talked about football, love and melancholy in the Unitarian Church, and raised lots for Simon along the way – it’s been a labour of love, and anxiety-inducing at times, but a pleasure. So, thank you. Hope you’ll come with us on more adventures, we’re dreaming some up at the moment.
