Young Hearts Run Free – When Only Words Can Describe: Friendship / The Importance Of Radio

The Young Hearts Run Free collective have another literary evening lined up on February 21st in The Unitarian Church with Donal Dineen and John Kelly, plus live performances from Groom, Aidan Wall & Leo Rickard.

We weren’t really sure what was going to happen with Young Hearts this year, since so much is in flux with us, and we still don’t, but while we wait and see, we decided to put on our first literary event of the year – When Only Words Can Describe: Friendship/ The Importance of Radio – since these two subjects weigh heavily on our minds.

The night will feature contributions from two of radio’s most idiosyncratic and inspiring voices (and people), Donal Dineen and John Kelly, and musical performances by the great Uillean piper Leo Rickard, and the gifted Aidan Wall (Hipster Youth, Soil Creep).

Just added to the bill is the mighty Groom – and there might be another special guest announced before too long, as well.

Expect “…tea, cake, oddity…“.

The venue is The Unitarian Church on St. Stephens Green, the date is 21st February & the start time is 8pm. Admission is €10 on the door, with all proceeds go to the Simon Community.

But wait, there’s more – this just in:

“…at the kind invitation of Whelans, we will be doing a very little after show in their new little room – The Parlour – directly after the evening at the Unitarian. We are hoping to finish up at the Unitarian around 10.30pm, and go straight there.

Entry will be free, and will see Donal Dineen and John Kelly take to the decks for a while – a treat in itself. Along with them, some other Young Hearts, such as Peter Toomey, will also be playing some records, and it will go lateish, but not in an unpalatable way. Please come down for a tipple after the Unitarian, and help us celebrate the night, and we do hope to see you earlier, at the Unitarian Church.”
