Tickets are selling fast for the Young Hearts Run Free Collective‘s New Year’s Rulin’s with Andy Irvine, The Dudley Corporation, Lisa O’Neill, The Spook Of The Thirteenth Lock & Barry McCormack.
The second of our events this year – “New Year’s Rulin’s!” with Andy Irvine, is going to take place on Friday 22nd February at the James Joyce House, 15 Ushers Island, Dublin 8, and will feature contributions from four wonderful artists, who each in turn love Andy Irvine also;
The Dudley Corporation
The Spook of the Thirteenth Lock
Doors are at 7.30pm, and the first performance will be at 8pm, it is BYOB, and we are very grateful to be using the very special space on Ushers Island, a place that holds so much resonance with Joyce, where his grand-aunts used to reside, and that provided the setting for his last story in Dubliners – ‘The Dead’ – “It was a great affair the Misses Morkan’s annual dance. For years and years it had gone off in splendid style… in the dark, gaunt house on Usher’s Island.”
We hope that our night will also go off in “splendid style” – tickets are 20e, and proceeds as ever go to the Simon Community, and if you would like to reserve a place, do write back to us here, as space is very limited.
