You Kiss By The Book will be joined by Mumblin’ Deaf Ro and Hidden Highways for a gig to raise funds towards the release of their third album, Family Tree on July 11th in The Grand Social.
You Kiss By The Book
You Kiss By The Book was started by Simon Dowling in the hills of California where the first album, Neanderthals Going North, was released on a very limited CD run. The three year stint saw Simon and co tour California while keeping on a health diet of folk, country and Americana. On his return to Ireland, Simon kept the band name intact and continued gigging, playing with various line up changes as well as playing solo.
Their third album, Family Tree, will be released in July 2012.
Mumblin Deaf Ro
Ro’s next album is called ‘Dictionary Crimes’ and will be released in conjunction with Popical Island in September this year. It’s an album that explains what it’s like to be part of a family.”
Hidden Highways is a collaboration project featuring two of the country’s most talented songwriters, Carol Anne Mc Gowan and Tim V. Smyth . Mining a rich vein of stripped down folk, raw boned country the two started working together in late 2010 and have been crafting wonderful folk-tinged numbers ever since. After releasing a digital single last year on Out On A Limb Records, the duo are currently working on their debut physical release for the label.
