The Telescopes, The Sunshine Factory – The Workman’s Club, 15th May

The Telescopes will wrap up this weekend’s Irish tour with a Workman’s Club gig on Sunday

We are mad excited to have The Telescopes in The Workman’s Club on Sunday, 15 May. These dudes have been making sweet music together for almost 30 years and have a masso eight albums to their name. These guys will be bringing some space rock, drone tunes to our stage for one helluva gig.

The Telescopes have been major influencers for bands such as Brian Jones Town Massacre, Ride and Slowdive. Their experimental, dream and psych sound has been lashed with praise from the likes of NME who said they’re “in another universe altogether, incredible”.

The Telescopes most recent album, Hidden Fields, was released in late 2015 and was recorded in Glasgow with St. Deluxe. This record was celebrated by Drowned In Sound as their “finest record for over a decade. Prepare to be pulverised.” The guys have taken us on an unexpected return to the outer reaches of free-drone noise with this record. We are dying for a healthy dose of psych-rock to give us a pure rush.

Supporting The Telescopes will be Cork based 4-piece, The Sunshine Factory. They will be hitting us up with some shoegaze and psychedelia. Check out this crew on Soundcloud and you will not want to miss them.

Some serious English noise-rock veterans and Corkonian psychedelics, we know that you will be kicking yourself if you don’t come on down.
