A night to celebrate the independent Irish music of the 90’s, with DJs, live performances & more Performers are still to be confirmed, but Niall McGuirk of Hope Promotions and Paul Shanahan from Blunt Records will be DJing. Daragh McCarthy’s 1996 documentary The Stars Are Underground – from which the night takes its name – will be screened (silently), as will some contemporaneous music videos.
There will also be a mini-exhibition of gig posters, some of which available for sale with the proceeds going to charity. An open mic “for the songwriters / comedians” will hopefully be policed with fists of steel.
