The Quarter Inch Collective – Closing Down & Quompilation #3

The time has come for The Quarter Inch Collective to call it a day, but not before their third and final release – Quompilation #3 featuring “14 of Ireland’s soundest young artists“.

The Quarter Inch Collective will soon cease to exist. On February 1st we will launch our very final release into the world. That release is Quompilation #3, featuring 14 of Ireland’s soundest young artists covering songs from the year 2012. It will appear in cassette form and in digital download form. Artwork for the release will be created by the uniquely talented Fuchsia MacAree.

The artists appearing on Quompilation #3 are as follows, in alphabetical order:

Cloud Castle Lake
Davy Kehoe
Flok
Ginola
Girl Band
Kathi Burke
Lemonada
No Monster Club
Orquesta
Rhino Magic
Simon Bird
Spilly Walker
Turning Down Sex
The Wit Criteria

The cassette will be limited to 150 copies. The download will be free. There might be a limited edition poster, we’ll see.

The launch of the cassette will take place in the Workman’s Club on Wellington Quay in Dublin 2 on February 1st. Admission will be €10 and you will receive a tape on entry, as long as stocks last. Most (hopefully all) of the bands listed above will perform at the launch party. A pre-order will be set up in the coming days so you can secure your copy ahead of time.

Friends, foes and countrymen, this is it. The last one. It’s been a crazy couple of years. Let’s go out with a bang.
