Meteor Choice Music Prize 2013 Shortlist Announced

The shortlist for the Meteor Choice Music Prize 2013 has been announced. And So I Watch You From Afar – All Hail Bright Futures (Sargent House)

Little Green Cars – Absolute Zero (Universal Music)

My Bloody Valentine – MBV (MBV Records)
O Emperor – Vitreous (Big Skin)
Lisa O’ Neill – Same Cloth or Not (Song Seeds Records)
Villagers – {Awayland} (Domino)

This year’s judges are John Balfe from Entertainment.ie, Aidan Butler from RTE Radio One, Niall Byrne from Nialler9.com, Steve Cummins from the Irish Post, Shilpa Ganatra from the Irish Daily Star, Daniel Gray from Totally Dublin, Laurence Mackin from The Irish Times, Una Mullally from TG4’s Ceol Ar An Imeall & The Irish Times, Fin O’Leary from MCD, Colm O’Sullivan from Today FM, Niall Stokes from Hot Press, Amy McGarrigle from BBC Northern Ireland and Laura Kirkpatrick from Spotify.

The judging panel will select and announce the €10,000 winning album at the live event, which this year returns to Vicar St on Thursday February 27th. Tickets for the show are €23.50 including booking fee and go on sale from Ticketmaster on Friday.

As usual the Paul McLoone Show will be covering proceedings live on TodayFM, and for the first time a 1 hour highlight show will be broadcast on Sunday 2nd March on RTE2.
