The organisers of the Hunters Moon Festival in Carrick On Shannon have launched a fundraising campaign on fundit.ie.
We are Willie, Caroline and Natalia and we are part of a small group of artists and musicians who are organising the Hunters Moon Music and Art Festival in Carrick on Shannon, County Leitrim in the Northwest of Ireland for the weekend of the 28th, 29th and 30th of October 2011.
We all live near Carrick and we have always dreamed of bringing the kind of music and art that we love to town where we live. We have gotten together to put on this festival and make that possible. The music program has been hand-picked by us and features a mix of experimental, contemporary, pysch, folk and rock acts. Check out the full line-up below.
Over the weekend, we will be taking over several empty shop units and display windows to feature an art trail through Carrick. As well, there will be a short experimental films cinema set up. We are still looking for art and film submissions so check the link below if you are interested!
The Hunters Moon Festival will be a intimate affair with only 250 tickets available. We are keeping the numbers small so that we can have the performances in some of the unique places that are available in Carrick. We are using St. George’s Church built in 1698 for the daytime music events. We are excited about coupling the amazing acoustics of the Church with it’s intimate setting to create a rare listening atmosphere. In the evening, we will be using the Dock Arts Center for the performances. There will also be deejays scattered around the pubs in town playing everything from seventies classic rock to Tibetan chant albums to low-hi sixties acid-folk records. Oh yeah…
An art and record marketplace with be set up with independent record labels, custom effects pedals, screen printed posters and more for sale. Finally, we will have Cinema Northwest’s 100 Seater mobile truck cinema in town on the Sunday to show a selection Halloween themed drive-in classics!
