Electric Eel Shock Bringing Back The Noise

The hardest working Japanese band in showbusiness bringing the hits back to Ireland

Electric Eel Shock are certainly one of the funnest live bands this tired old hack has ever seen – indeed I distinctly remember a promoter warning me about them before I first saw and hoping I was made of the sternest of stuff to cope with their live ribaldry.

They’re making a long overdue return to our shores in support of their new greatest hits and odd’n’sods best of compilation, handily titled Best of and Covers. It’s a double and the blurb tells us that “consists of 26 songs – covering both household names and the more obscure – and is very much a release for the band’s fans, who not only funded the album, but also chose the songs and were involved in every step along the way.”

If you think you’ve the constitution for it, catch them at one of the following:

27 May Limerick Cobblestone Joe’s
28 May Dublin The Workman’s Club
29 May Galway Roisin Dubh
30 May Clonakilty DeBarra’s
31 May Belfast Voodoo
