You may have seen Cloud Castle Lake recently on big American music sites like Stereogum and Pitchfork. Good for them! But you know you’ve really made it when you’re on Thumped. No, really, it’s our pleasure.

Establishing their name with a series of incendiary live shows with the likes of Glasser and Nigel Godrich’s Ultraísta, the trio of Daniel McAuley, Brendan Jenkinson and Rory O’Connor spent their formative months finely honing their craft away from invasive eyes. Removing themselves from their hometown surrounds, ‘Dandelion’ was created in select studios and locations around Ireland.

An emphatic statement confirming their youthful ambition, ‘Dandelion’ displays a trio coming to a new peak of their eclectic powers. Shooting through influence from pastoral folk to soaring instrumental melodies – all held together by vocalist Daniel McAuley’s remarkable falsetto – Cloud Castle Lake’s patience, intelligence and bravery is rewarded within the breath-taking scope of ‘Dandelion’.
