Autumn Owls, Bouts, At Last An Atlas – Upstairs At Whelans, April 15th

Autumn Owls are heading to Chicago to record their debut album later this month, but before they go they really, really need to get some cash together…

They’ve lined up a gig Upstairs in Whelan’s on 15th April with Bouts and At Last An Atlas. Admission is €7, with the proceeds going towards their duty free upkeep while in America.

Dublin’s Autumn Owls are preparing to head over to the US at the end of April to record their debut long-player with ace producer Brian Deck (Califone, Modest Mouse). They’re playing one last gig in Dublin before they leave in hopes of making enough money to eat at least one meal a day. This isn’t their first time in the US and they know from experience playing SXSW and CMJ that American fare is concocted from an expensive pink paste that they mold and form into a semblance of a meal. Costly!

If you haven’t seen Autumn Owls in action previously you should make a point to come out. The three-piece indie rock band has made a name for themselves by deconstructing folk/Americana music and injecting it with just a touch of post-rock. They will be playing tracks from their upcoming album and would love to get one last round of feedback from friends and fans before immortalizing the songs in wax. AERTV will be on hand filming the set, so please come make some noise.
