Zine (1 Viewer)

Either the "Jazz Fusion circa 1972" zine, or my other brianwave for one was "Mongolian Throat Singing & Shamanism in Tuva Today" zine - with a bit of the oul Punk rock`n Reggae thrown in there.

It`d take off i reakon!

Anyone heard the Sedition discography cd??Theres some well good Mongolian Throat singing on there too.

I could contribute a section on Minority punks!....ala the thread on Afro-punk below!

is that a serious offer? cos i'd definitely be up for putting that in if you get the chance to write it up.

just got an e-mail reply from Yage saying they arent doing interviews. how odd.

People tend not to be arsed putting ads in zines. I just put them in for free for people I think are cool (Rejected/Control, The Record Store, Enslaved, Bastard Youth, our distro) and only if they fit aesthetically, or else trade them for records I want.

Just charge, I say. You'd be surprised about how fucked peoples' heads are about noit valuing things unless they pay for them, many's the time I've seen people shell out for shit zines and litter the floor with free zines.

i'm sure it'd be more interesting than another zine about about hardcore or whatever passes for 'credible music' these days

Maybe, maybe not. Lots of good hardcore zines around. Maybe not everyone's cup of tea but I still get excited about bands that sound like Minor Threat and Discharge, aswell as "new sounding" stuff. On the topic of bands that sound like Discharge, we've got copies of the Religious War LP out on Hardcore Holocaust (actually sounds more like Anti-Cimex but more metal, a bit Motorhead, good good shit) just in for the Scio-Bong distro, George Bitch Jnr LP (power-violence as hell) too, both €8.

Anyway, my point is that the whole buzz of zines is Do It Your-fucking-self. If you're bored of hardcore zines...do your own zine about stuff that interests you, or shut da fuck up. And give me my hip-hop, noise, Hydra Head CDs and Ghoulies Go To College video back.

you'll get yer shit cormac..you'll get your shit...and then some shit...
i'm contributing to someone's zine at the moment, but it's just a picture
cos words are pretty 1975 (played hte fuck out). i'm pretty sure they've all been used up by now anyway.

it's probably a good think i can't read or write

man, i already know what i'm into so there's no real need for me to waste more paper validating my interest. i like to think that by reading about other peoples interests i might get turned onto some new shit...like serial killers or something kool.

andrew

Yeah but the same goes for you...like I didn't know that you were into half the same shit as me that you're into until Damo or someone half-mentioned shit about horror movies or lovecraft or something...but if it was in the zine then other heads into that would be buzzin off you about it. That's what's happened to me anyway...except they're buzzin about how shit life is, hahah...maybe I'll just write about zombies next time.

man i liked your zine because it wasn't all about music and was funny and looked rad(was gonna say better than everyone elses - but i think 'rad' is a nicer way of saying it - ooops i said both)
but yeah, if you write the next one about zombies, killer shit
maybe we should all just keep our interests more up to date in our okcupid profiles...seems to be the way of the future

andrew

ps - i like the way i said "it's a good think i cant'..." - i'm a pretty smort guy

pps - if anyone wants a review of the 8 stockhausen pieces i heard in belfast at the weekend, i'll write the shit out of one. haha.

Well i could write something up as i intend on checking out alot of the names/tip offs posted by Gary and company - but its a new topic for me!(hence posting the question to begin with & looking into that Afo-punk docu).
Maybe someone with more knowledge on the subject could write something up?

Or maybe with my "Fresh" and "non-biased" perspective on the topic, i could do it meself!Bingo!Only rambling/talkin shite now..,....
Yea - i`ll do something for you anyway, but i`m slow and can`t start anything till the weekend.
Yage would`nt give interviews?Strange one alright.Ask Children of Fall!

There`s this guy looking for contributions to Zine thing his starting up, and i wondered if you could give us an Interview?
Being a smort guy and all - i think it`d be a laugh!
Well - get back to us if your up for it.

All the best,
Eamonn

well andy to tickle your fancy in my next zine i have a couple of essays, one on TORTURE METHODS DURING THE INQUISITION (with diagrams an all) and also a bit on GLOOMY SUNDAY (supposadly the HUnagrian song to have caused most suicides ever)

one thing i really wanna do with my zine is interview dead people via ouija boards, but everyone in me gaff is too wusscore to be meddling with that stuff, imagine i could try get gg allin, joey ramone etc..

also thinking bout trying to get a dialogue going with some serial killers too!

hmm, there's an article in my zine bout zombie movies, odd.

anyway andrew i seem to remember you telling me there's nothing original about My Remorse, is this the latest attempt to remove the dirt from my eyes and make me realise i've been wrong all along? Cos it worked really well the last time. No, really.

on a more positive note, interviews with On The MIght Of Princes and The National Blue have been secured. hurrah.

yep, anything you think would work out, i'll accept. any live/record reviews too.

Yeah, Nikita from Yage (who also runs Nova Recordings) told me they're really busy and disorganised lately and to try in a few months, which is better than a flat out "no" i guess.

So instead i mailed Lack today, we'll see how that works out. Pity these have to be done by email but hey.
