Colleagues, can't work with them and HR won't let you shoot them.

Was talked into helping some colleagues with some very rudimentary stuff before Christmas (think - WOW! you can't do this - how they hell were you hired!). I even offered to physically enter the data myself - "Just send me the stuff" (this amounted to about 5 minutes of excel cut and paste for a reasonably competent monkey). Cue a couple of hour long meetings where on of them couldn't possibly do this in the two weeks available - nooo way - just not possible.

So he waited till the absolutely last minute (ie during my fucking Christmas holidays) sent me half of what was requested and fucked it all up.

Next meeting:
"Well I said it couldn't be don on time."

Spent earlier part of the week dealing with another colleague who is erratic, thinks he's entitled to send me scolding emails (for some reason a brief review of the org chart hasn't formed part of his research!). And seems completely unable to behave like a calm rational person in the office. Bizarre behaviour altogether.

I work in a team of 5, I manage three of them, and two of them are schoolyard bullies who are only civil to each other when they're ganging up on someone else, and only happy when they're avoiding actually doing any real work. I am beginning to hate them, they're so utterly disruptive.

They've been allowed to get away with this for over a decade (I've only been working there 4 years) and though many have made many complaints to our head of department about both of them he's not willing to take any action (actually, he makes them worse because his way of dealing with them is to berate them like children - which they often behave like, but most definitely are not). I would honestly prefer to be dealing with children.

I have two jobs at the moment - one monday to friday and the other on saturday. The mon-fri one will hopefully work out well if I can get through the first few months but for now they're paying me a pittance so I have the saturday job for the extra few bob. I called the tax office to try and sort out the tax credits between the two jobs and this morning I received an email from the payroll office that I now owe the taxman money and all my wages for a few weeks will go on tax. This irritates me.
