I'm buying a second guitar to bring with me on my travels, something decent to I can do some recording, something that won't fall apart and piss me off.
At this point, I'm between the Yamaha FG720S and Tanglewood TW CSG - both solid-top dreadnoughts. They both sound lovely, a balanced and fairly deep tonal range which I'm looking for.
Both are so close, so I was hoping some of yissers superior knowledge might sway me one way or another. The Yamaha has a spruce top and nato body and the Tanglewood has a cedar top and rosewood body, and I've read that the cedar/rosewood setup generally sounds better for fingerpicking.
If I thought I'd have the guitar for life, I might go higher on the Yamaha (FG730S) or Tanglewood T115AS but it's an extra 100 blips.
I'm trying them both out together again on Wednesday, so any ideas would be great!
