Three pieces of string walk into a bar, the barkeeper says "get out, we don't serve strings in here". The dejected pieces of string go outside and are just about to walk away when one of them says he's got an idea.

"Tie me in a knot" he says, and when they've done that he brushes the loose ends down over his face. Disguise complete he heads back into the bar to order take-away cans for himself and his mates.

The barkeeper has a good look at him and says "Aren't you one of those strings I just sent packing a few minutes ago?". The string looks at the barkeeper and says "No, I'm afrayed knot".
