pretty much tearing hair out here after my mam decided to buy the new norton anti virus, despite the fact that i told her 1. DON'T DO ANYTHING WITHOUT ME 2. DON'T EVER BUY PROGRAMS AS OUR INTERNET IS TOO SLOW. its so much unnecessary stress. the websites so fucking complicated and their helpline costs a tenner a minute (actually). ughhhhhhhhh. (i suppose i shouldve posted that on the computers forum here)

but before all that my friend was here and was talking about how his family is fostering 2 nigerian kids, and one of them always loves betting. "oh yeh the nigerians love scams!!! you do be always hearing about them scamming people in e mails!!". My mam just sat there absolutely delighted with her contribution to the conversation...

oh for the days when my parents knew everything...

My Da often talks about 'the cripples' across the road. They're in wheelchairs.

He doesn't know how to lower his voice either and assumes that putting his hand in front of his mouth while shouting means that no-one can hear him. I've been in the pub with him and he'll tell me about someone being a drug addict/rapist/drug lord or whatever while they're walking past us. I'm always expecting someone to have a go at him.

He doesn't like muslims or black people at all, but I tell him that they don't like him either, so it's ok.

My Da had a huge number of viruses on his work computer when they checked it. So frustrating cos hes always blaming us for viruses getting on the home computer when we know how to use anti-virus software and have scans on the whole time when on line. We also are on sites such as this at home most of the time, same ones all the time is my point not 'surfing' the net. He ends up on everything looking up things.

My da's fairly nifty with computers, he's well good at the photoshop and stuff like that but he's nowhere near as nerdy as me although he does have two desktops and a laptop.

My parents stayed up all night completing pacman and other games on our first computer (1990?) and could type etc. Now my dad is a self proclaimed computer illiterate, well he quite simply isn't bothered learning anything new, and my mam did the ECDL years ago and thinks she's a master and talks away about the people we're skyping, not realising they can hear every single word.

this was soon followed by his thoughts on how "queers are freaks of nature".

"Two men together is disgusting and there's no way they should be able to adopt kids coz you couldn't trust them with children".

Then he said "and the paedophiles are even worse".

he likes coming out here and winding up right wing Americans, who initially like him because he is Irish and has a nice white beard, by continually slipping communist and socialist ideals into conversations with them, and have them agreeing with him before they realise it. And then having a go at their religion if they try to use that to defend anything.

When they start trying to argue back they learn why he has been a union negotiator for the past 30 something years. It's like trying to argue with a horrible logical brick wall closing in on them. I tend to just sit back, and watch the bullfight unfold.

My Da usually acts the maggot in public specifically to annoy us. Example: We were on the bus once and he (loudly) pretended to be mentally handicapped. He kept hugging my sister and pointing to really mundane things out the window with a childlike excitement. Ths sisters always go mental, but it never got to me, thought it was hilarious.

He recently figured out that the way to annoy me in public is to shout loudly about how useless "Niggers" are. It worked really, really well. The cunt.


He's not too bad on computers though.
